Brandis B. Knudsen selected for Visiting Artist Program
Brandis B. Knudsen was one of the artists selected by First Peoples Fund for the Wicahpi Olowan (WO) Visiting Artist Program (VAP). VAP is for Artists seeking to create work in the Wicahpi Olowan Recording Studio in Kyle, SD. The designated length of the program is six months and started in July 2025. During this time, selected artist will have access to utilize the WO Recording Studio, complete monthly check-ins with the Program Manager, and receive a monthly stipend. Upon completion of the program, the Artists will assist with feedback for reporting and evaluation purposes. Selected Artists have also agreed to perform at the Oglala Lakota Artspace Solstice or Equinox Event and engage in Native Artist Professional Development (NAPD) in the future.

With his selection to the Visiting Artist Program, Brandis B. Knudsen, also known as B. of Dakota South Records makes his long-awaited return to the studio and music industry as he picks up work on his 3rd studio album, “Full Name in Lights”. During his residency, Knudsen plans to release both previously unreleased music and new singles from the upcoming album and other projects from Dakota South Records.
